As a frequent buyer from Amazon, I rely heavily on reviews (and appreciate them). This item I purchased with NO reviews, other than the review for the "Large" one. I have an 8 year old boy, that is very tall, and the medium fits him nicely, he is 70 lbs about 4'7/4'8 I fear the large would have been too large. The quality is great. I like that the leggings are attached to the boots, so you don't have to worry about the boots falling down. Very nice quality. The tunic is separate (red), the pants/boots, and the third piece is the armour, which ties under the arms. We're using this for an Alexander the Great costume to complete his biography of him.

The large size fit my large (5'4", 115lb) 11 year old well. He used it as part of an Alexander the Great costume for school.

the costume is high quality. Looks very nice.
I bought a sword and shield to go with it. My son wants a Roman helmet as well.
I was very concerned about the size because of the previous reviews for this product, but it turned out fine.
My Son is almost 8 and average size. The Medium fits him perfectly.

The child's size large was huge! My 10-year-old won't be able to wear this for years. In fact, I think the pants would even be a little long on me, and I'm 5'6".
