I was sorta hoping this was going to look cooler than it actually does.
As far as sound reactivity, the audio really drives the visuals well...
The visuals are a little too strobey/flashy...we had it on @ a party and decided it was just too annoying. :(

This toy is fine for kids, but not good for a serious party. If you have other effects in your 'show', the unit will seem very weak and light in comparison. It syncs well with the music though. The main unit has a power cord and the remote has 3 aaa batteries. I bought it to add to the lights I already had for a party. I had it on during the party, but it was upstage by the other units I had on.

I used caution in buying this little device because these kinds of small scale light-shows have a tendency of being pretty LAME. HOWEVER, this product is definitely an exception. It detects the beats of of the music precisely and accurately. The light shows are usually all unique depending upon the beat of the song and the multiple modes, provided by the remote, liven up the experience because you can interact with the music by changing the mode progressively through each song. It's great for small scale parties and displays a nice big, clear, light show from floor to ceiling (8-10ft) flawlessly. The remote is very responsive as well, working 20+ feet away. The unit comes with an interchangeable lens and mirror for different effects. I personally do not like the effect provided by the mirror, but the lens is awesome.

Yeah, this product looks awesome on the outside. Just too bad it isn't as cool as the box and advertisements show. The light show just isn't quite as smooth as it's website shows. You have to set the sensitivity just right or it is way too annoying for a small party. It would work for a wilder pary. Oh well. I still give it several stars because it really is a cool toy. I enjoyed it.

It's true the effect is not bright enough in party/dance situations. In darker more intimate situations as mood or effect lighting, the light seems to dance and pulse and take on a life of its own. Mesmerizing and totally effective. We love it.
